Biking

As a city of bicycles Albstadt has many qualified biking trails and a bike park.

The new mountain bike trail Apollo Sports starts directly at Sonnencamping Albstadt. The 21 km long, well signposted trail leads over Truchtelfingen and the Bitzer Steige through the Ebinger city center back to the campsite. With “Gonso-Trail” Albstadt offers a biking trail of 46,3 km which will satisfy everybody´s power level. Crisp climbs and fast descents alternate in the scenic ups and downs of the Swabian Alb.

Bikepark Albstadt offers four downhill trails with different levels in difficulty and in focus so that hobby-bikers as well as experienced downhillers will have a lot of fun. The bikepark runs the German championship in downhill as well as the UCI Mountainbike Worldcup.

Those who like it more comfortable are able to make tours on their own pace.

Hiking

7 premium hiking trails, the Traufgänge are around the campsite. They were proven by the German Hiking Institute and were awarded with the “Deutsche Wandersiegel”. With a length between 9 and 17 km and different levels from low to high they offer relaxation as well as sportive challenge for sustained hikers, in any case rich views to the severe and lovely rolling beauty in nature.

Even the 350 km long quality trail Albsteig can be reached just a few kilometers from the campsite. A first insight you get in the short film of the Swabian Alb Tourism. Many additional hiking possibilities you will find in the natural park “Obere Donau”.

Sonnencamping is certified as quality host for “Wanderbares Deutschland “.

Swimming & wellness

Directly beneath the camping there is the aqua park badkap which is well-known beyond the bounds of Albstadt. With its amply interior and outer basins up to 32 degrees it offers pure bathing fun. The well-kept sauna zone with 7 saunas, 2 steam baths, 2 solarium and therapeutic massage let you relax after a hiking or golf day.

Climbing

Albstadt offers another sportive attraction which can be reached from the center of Albstadt-Ebingen by foot – the climbing park. Far above the city you are able to relax in a wonderful beech grove and turn off everyday´s life.

Many other climbing opportunities are offered within the Natural Park “Obere Donau”.

Visiting

The Zollernalb is one of the richest areas in Germany in terms of castles and monuments.
Attractions worth visiting nearby are the conspicuous Burg Hohenzollern, Sigmaringen with its impressive castle, Kloster Beuron as well as numerous museums at Albstadt.

Shopping

For decades of years the textile industry has been the store sign of the Swabian Mountains. Thus even today many outlets of local textile producers still exist who offer bargains as well in underwear as in cycling clothes.

Golfing

Three golfgrounds, Hausen am Tann, Golfclub Hechingen-Hohenzollern and Golf-Club Sigmaringen Zollern-Alb e.V. offer the oportunity to spend your leisure time in well-kept greens.
They offer different training levels for beginners up to spectacular fairways and greens in sloping position for which a precise way of playing is necessary and which are a challenge as well for advanced learners.

Gliding and motor aviating

All those who would like to enjoy the Swabian Mountains from above are invited by the gliding and motor airfields in Albstadt-Degerfeld to take off and enjoy. The LSV Degerfeld as operator of the airfield offers a wide variety of aerial sports, from gliding to motor planes and balloon flights.
